How Do I Refill Prescription Medications Prior to a Storm
So I Have Enough to Sustain Myself?

A law exists  to make it easier for individuals who take medications to receive a 30-day refill prior to an imminent hurricane threat. In order to receive an Emergency-Preparedness Prescription Medication 30-day Refill, a few things need to occur. The county you live in and are seeking the medication from must:

1.      have been issued a Hurricane Warning by the National Weather Service, or

2.      have been declared a ‘State of Emergency’ by the Governor, or

3.      have activated their Emergency Operation Center.

If the county you reside in meets these categories and you wish to refill your prescription medications so that you are prepared for a storm, please do so at your usual pharmacy. If you have questions on how this applies to your insurance provider, please consult your established pharmacist. It is important that you have enough medication to last through a time of uncertain recovery.

Elfers Visit to CARES Rao Musunuru Enrichment Center

The Elfers Bus went on a trip to Hudson last month, taking a party of us on a sightseeing trip to scout out our sister facility.

First stop was the ‘We Care” café for lunch which proved to be a delightful experience. Director Clark Parry joined us while we were ordering from a range of delicious items. And later, Cindy Durkee took us on a tour of the center, upstairs and downstairs. We were all impressed by the spacious, well-appointed rooms and Cindy, you make an excellent tour guide!

We look forward more than ever to our return to the old school building and more space. And to a close relationship with CARES at Hudson. Also appreciated was the ‘scenic route’ bus ride to the end of Grand Boulevard, alongside the Anclote River. Thank you Norm!
